Description

A beautifully utilitarian object from another time.

This vintage water bucket is handcrafted from aged wood and bound with iron, finished with a tall iron handle for carrying. Originally used for the everyday task of gathering and transporting water, each bucket bears the marks of years of practical use—weathered wood, darkened metal, irregular construction, and a patina that simply can't be reproduced.

Today, we love these as substantial decorative vessels. Fill one with dried branches, seasonal stems, rolled linens, or kindling, or leave it empty beside a hearth or console where its sculptural shape and aged materials can stand on their own.

Because these are authentic vintage pieces, every bucket is different. Variations in size, shape, wood tone, ironwork, repairs, and condition are expected and are part of what makes each one worth finding.

Please Note

The bucket you receive will vary from the one pictured. These are genuine vintage pieces rather than newly manufactured reproductions and each one is different. Expect evidence of previous use, including variations in the wood, oxidation and rust to the metal, surface wear, cracks, repairs, irregularities, and other age-related character. These vessels are not guaranteed to be watertight and are recommended for decorative use.

Styling Notes

For fall, fill one with tall branches, dried grasses, or a loose collection of pumpkins and gourds. Beside a fireplace, use it to hold kindling or pinecones; in an entryway, leave it empty and let the weathered wood and iron provide the texture.

The aged materials are particularly beautiful against clean plaster walls, stone floors, linen, ironstone, and more refined antique furniture—that contrast keeps rustic pieces like this from feeling overly farmhouse.
