Description

Old-world character, handmade form, and the kind of imperfections that make antique pottery so compelling.

These antique Cottage Crafted Jugs feature generous proportions and a softly rustic, Mediterranean-inspired appearance. Each is handmade, giving the vessel subtle irregularities in shape, surface, glaze, and coloration that distinguish it from newly manufactured pottery.

Available in Light Blue or Cream, the softly aged finishes make these especially easy to incorporate into a collected home. Their tall scale and wide opening make them beautiful filled with generous branches or loose garden flowers, but we love them just as much left empty where the handmade form and timeworn surface can be appreciated.

Because these are antique vessels, no two are exactly alike. Size, shape, glaze, coloration, patina, and signs of previous use will vary from piece to piece—each jug is its own found object rather than an identical reproduction.

Condition

Antique condition with variations and imperfections consistent with age, handmade construction, and previous use. Expect differences in glaze, surface texture, coloration, wear, marks, and patina from one piece to another.

For use with fresh flowers, we recommend placing a watertight vessel inside unless the individual jug has been confirmed to be watertight.

Styling Notes

Go big with the branches. The generous opening and tall silhouette are particularly beautiful filled with olive branches, flowering stems, or something gathered from the garden.

Or leave the jug completely empty and place it on a console, kitchen island, or old wood table. A vessel with this much age and character doesn't necessarily need anything added to it.
